In Greenfield, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Indiana, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–6 pm. I think we finally found the best nursery around! Every birthday, anniversary, and Valentine's I am gifted a plant. The ones I have received from Wells have become my favorite. Some plants have been with me for years, and I know it's because of where they started that they're continuing to thrive. Wells does an amazing job with how healthy everything stays when you get it home. I've also never gotten any pests from here. The pride and love for their business is visible in the the plants that enter our home, you can literally see it. They give the plants the perfect start to thrive every time I have received one! I am truly impressed, and I hope to add many more to my collection!

Wells Nursery has a wonderful selection of plants, ceramic pots, fertilizer, and other garden related products. The staff is friendly and helpful, and if you’re lucky, you might see their kitty named Killer. She’s a sweetheart. I enjoy browsing through the rows of flowers and plants. If you are a nursery fanatic, like I am, I highly recommend visiting.

Absolutely love this family owned greenhouse! I've been here to shop through different generations of family ownership/management and they always maintain the top quality. Today I splurged a little and got some of the cutest planters on top of a gorgeous hanging basket. I'll definitely be back for more!♡

2026 Update: What a great selection of trees, wreaths, poinsettias and evergreen decorations they have this year! The tree we brought home has to be the most beautiful tree we've ever had in the 30 years that we've been getting live trees! The gentleman than runs the tree lot makes chili, stew or beans depending on the weekend. This weekend was stew weekend and let me tell you what a pleasant surprise that was! They shook, wrapped and mounted the tree on the car for me while we were inside.. just had to drive her home. 2024 Update: Without the Lions club selling trees and with the tree farms requiring reservations, the options for buying a tree from a local business are dwindling. Wells has a great selection of live Christmas trees in all price ranges, and they are very helpful and friendly 🌲♥️
